Experience

Private Practice
Active and ongoing private counseling practice since 2012 open to kids, adolescents, adults and couples. Integrating trauma informed work and meditative movement is central to the work I do with people. Specifically I use polyvagel theory the moving meditation of qigong to help people access and process issues and trauma that have either not been addressed or have not been fully responsive to talk therapy alone.

Though each individual and life circumstance is singular and unique, I support all the people I work with through unconditional acceptance, presence, genuineness, and responsiveness. Life can be very difficult at times and I believe therapy should be, first and foremost, a safe place for people to reflect and process their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

My graduate work and personal experience has emphasized the importance of engaging the mind and body to change the underlying dynamics that cause symptoms. By working with the roots of issues–in addition to their manifestations–core dynamics are addressed and transformed so that life can be a easier, and more enjoyable.

“This above all: to thine own self be true.”
-William Shakespeare

The people I work with seek counseling because they realize something could be better. There is a part in all of us that knows how to best take care of ourselves. It is that part that brings us to therapy and guides us through the changes we need.
