Policies

CONFIDENTIALITY

All records, files, and communications between you and I are confidential and will not be revealed to anyone without your explicit written permission, except when required by law in cases of reasonable suspicion of child or elder abuse; reasonable suspicion of violence toward self or others; or where disclosure is required pursuant to legal proceedings.

OFFICE HOURS

My office hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. If you need to contact me between sessions please leave a message and I will return your call as soon as possible.

LENGTH OF THERAPY

I work with people weekly or bi-weekly on a long-term basis on the same day(s) at the same time(s).  Four to six months is a good initial trial period.  That said, you or I can terminate sessions at any time; all I ask is that if we decide to stop we have one closure session to honor the work we’ve done.

APPOINTMENT AND CANCELLATION POLICY

The scheduling of a session involves the reservation of time specifically for you.  Except for genuine emergencies, if you cancel your session less than 24 hours before the scheduled time, or if you miss your session, you will be charged the full fee for your scheduled session.  If you are using your insurance and miss or cancel your session withing 24 hours you will be responsible for the full rate at which your insurance re-reimburses me for services.  If you miss three or more consecutive sessions your session day and time will no longer be guaranteed for you.

PAYMENT

Payment is due in full at the beginning of each session.  I accept cash, checks, and PayPal payments, but Paypal payments are 2.9% + $0.30 more because of their convenience fee.  I currently accept the following insurance in Washington state: Pacific Source, Legacy Plus, Legacy Smart Health, Brightpath, Lifewise, BC/BS Premera and Regents, Kaiser, First Choice, Tri-Care and Heritage.  In Oregon I do not currently accept any insurance but am happy to provide you with a receipt so that you may, depending on the terms of your health insurance policy, receive reimbursement from your insurance company.  If you would like to pay online please let me know and I will send you a link.

VACATIONS

I take vacations.  You should too.  I will give you at least three weeks notice when I plan to be away such that I would need to miss a session.
